MyGoCenter shared workspace community area in Hawaii
MyGoCenter has just joined the Proximity Network, featuring locations in Kapolei, Hawaii and an upcoming space in Ala Moana (coming soon!) MyGoCenter has many features to make it one of kind including a cyclorama/photo studio, free parking, 24/7 access and even access to both spaces. Hear what Michael Tsang the space owner of MyGoCenter has to say about his space!
When did you open your coworking space and what enticed you to do so?
December 2016 is when MyGoCenter’s doors opened for business.

I [Michael Tsang] started MyGoCenter because there weren’t any coworking spaces or executives suites near Kapolei and I needed one for my customers, and I needed one for my other businesses.

Tell us about your space. How big is it? What kinds of amenities do you have? What sort of quirks make it special?

Our space is 1176 sq ft but everyone thinks it’s 2000 sq ft or more because of the way we designed it -the high ceilings throughout our space including the offices’ help make it feel much larger.  The features people remember most about our space are the garage door in the conference room that combines the coworking space and the conference room together, to make a larger room to host events during after hours.  We also have a podcast room for podcasters.

What is your favorite thing about operating a coworking space?

The members are my most favorite thing about our business. I love to talk to them. I love to hear about what they are working on and most of all I like to see how we can help them with their business.

What has been the most surprising/unexpected thing about operating a coworking space?
The positive vibe of the industry.  I have been involved in many industries, and the coworking space emits a natural positive vibe of everyone wanting to help each other.  I love the energy that it organically emits.  I didn’t expect this level of positive energy emitting from this special place.

What’s your favorite story about one of your members?
My favorite story is the business of what one of my members are in.  They started a business that helps new medical transplants get back on their feet, financially, emotionally, and socially.  What a great business!
What is your biggest piece of advice for someone wanting to open a space?
Pay special attention to your lease terms, step up in rents and make sure you have enough offices to meet cash flow needs the business will have during the ramp-up period.
