The downtown coworking space offers a variety of shared workspace and meeting rooms

Proximity is excited to welcome CoSolve Coworking to the network of coworking spaces using the Proximity platform. Located in Longmont, Colorado, CoSolve is a community of entrepreneurs and creatives focused on collaboration and positive social impact. The coworking space offers dedicated desks, shared offices for teams, conference rooms and event space in a central downtown location in Longmont’s primary business district. We spoke with owners Kim Tucker and Dixon Dick about CoSolve’s amenities and what their community has to offer Longmont entrepreneurs, small businesses and freelance workers.

When did you open your coworking space?

We opened July 2016 on the third floor of an old newspaper building and have been rehabbing two other floors since then.

Tell us about your space. What kinds of amenities do you have and what makes it unique?

We have approximately 16,000 square feet in three different spaces. Our third-floor space is about 4,000 square feet with a focus on art and design supported by technology. Our second floor is designed around our event space which has three rooms setup for 50 or more people, including multimedia support and a kitchen. Our first-floor space is pretty wide open and we hope to support childcare there.

What’s your favorite thing about operating a coworking space?

The community members we’ve met are awesome. It really doesn’t get better than that. Many relationships will be lifelong.

What has been the most surprising or unexpected thing about operating a coworking space?

It’s so much harder than we thought to get the word out and market well. Marketing is one thing, marketing abstract feelings is another. Sure, it’s all about productivity, but what actually makes your space different?

What’s your favorite story of one of your members?

Two different member groups that didn’t know each other brought their talents together to work on a project in India.

What advice do you have for someone who wants to open a coworking space?

Attitude is so important. Everyone will feel what you are feeling and it will grow a community that is like you, whether you like it or not. Giving back is everything, because if you are in it strictly for real estate, it will be hard.
