Located in Longmont, Colorado, One/West Coworking has much to offer beyond a great view of Longs Peak. We spoke with Sergio R. Angeles, Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship for the Long Economic Development Partnership (Longmont EDP), to learn how One/West is supporting the local startup community.

Why did you decide to open a coworking space?

One/West Coworking officially opened in October. Longmont EDP seized a great opportunity to move into a new office about four times its current size. This new space is called the Advance Longmont Center, which includes a coworking space, startup accelerator programs and access to resources such as the Longmont EDP.

What kinds of amenities do you have? What makes your space unique?

The coworking space is about 2,500 square feet and consists of a 75-person training room, three private offices, a boardroom, an office dedicated to startups and plenty of hot desks. One of our awesome perks is that we have a spectacular view of the mountains and Longs Peak. We also have two accelerator programs in our space.

What is your favorite thing about operating a coworking space?

We love the people and energy that our coworking members bring to the space.

What has been the most surprising or unexpected thing about operating a coworking space?

The most unexpected part about operating a coworking space is keeping track of all of the little details to manage in the space such as software and events.

What advice do you have for someone who’d like to open a coworking space?

Our advice is, especially if it is a new build out, to anticipate construction delays.
